A welcoming space for writers to gather, weekly, to tend and cultivate a practice that grows beyond their words.

Seed & Story is a weekly writing circle - a welcoming space for emerging and seasoned writers alike to gather, write, reflect, read, and be read.

Every circle includes time for your own writing, in addition, each week is curated by alternating thought-provoking prompts rooted in meaningful world themes, open discussion and an opportunity to listen to both published work and original works in progress - it is an invitation into a gentle and generative space infused with curiosity, care and creative courage.

Seed & Story is grounded in the belief that writing is something we tend: slowly, seasonally, and in community. Allowing room for imperfect drafts to breathe, new ideas to seed, deeper noticing, and stories yet to bloom.

    00 | Possibility

Seed & Story is curated with a different theme, voice and focus each week. Informed by the more-than-human world and attuned to the cycles within and around us. Allowing for a natural rhythm of possibility to flow.

    01 | Presence

Every Circle is an invitation to be fully present, and engaged. We begin with a gentle grounding before sharing thought- provoking prompts. Often, followed by insightful discussion, facilitated with care so you always feel confident to participate.

  • A person writes in a notebook with lined pages, using an ink pen. There is a small pressed buttercup flower on the notebook. The scene is in black and white.

    02 | Practice

A dedicated time to tend to your practice, building your commitment to it, so you can feel and see your writing progress, and develop, all while you blossom into the writer you aspire to be.

  • A round mirror reflects a patterned ceiling and part of the floor. Nearby is a sheet of paper with printed text, and a small pile of tangled yarn or thread. The photograph is in black and white.

    03 | Perspective

Where you are actively encouraged to share both your own work and a variety of work that inspires you. Creating connection and conversation around meaningful world topics. Supporting everyone to widen their perspective, and an opportunity to reflect on your process, philosophies and cultural wisdom.

  • Black and white photograph of dandelions, some seed heads still intact and others dispersed, with grass and other plants in the background.

Together we will seek a deeper courage to plant the seeds that will grow into the stories we imagined and desire to become.

Meet Sam

Sam Osbiston is a writer, visual artist, and practitioner of wild attention, originally from North Wales.

In co-creation with her Wild Garden, she tends to its edges as the Garden whispers ancient wisdoms and gifts treasures from Soil to Soul. A sanctuary and a teacher, the Garden nourishes the deepening of Sam's earth-rooted practices, enriching the use of materials and the sustainability of her interaction with work and life.

Sam's writing and photography have been featured in various print and online publications. She has contributed to Women of Spirit; an anthology of stories by women who have overcome adversity, published by Silverwood Press.

Sam has had the honour of holding space to inspire learning, nurture courage and facilitate growth across diverse environments, including early years and tertiary education, local and online communities, and corporate settings for nearly 30 years.

Whether she is capturing the golden hush of evening light, tending to tangled garden beds, holding space or shaping words into something that resonates, her aim is the same: to listen deeply, to wonder and to invite a more connected way of being.

Whispers on the wind.

  • “The most magical (and surprisingly delightful) adventure you’ll ever take. ”

    — Brave Ink Student

  • Sam is able to hold space beautifully which allows for inspiration and insights to come through. Sam is all about magic, and I believe that's what you'll leave with... A little more magic ✨

    — Katerina

  • Reading Sam’s poetry feels less like observing and more like participating in a shared memory, unlocking a forgotten part of oneself. I always look forward to hearing what she has to say, as Sam’s words inspire me to keep grounded within my own work.
